My professional path has taken me from the study of nervous-system mechanisms to the scientific leadership of a drug development company.

I trained in neuroscience at the University of Lausanne, then carried out research in Lausanne and at University College London. My work explored ion channels, pain, synaptic plasticity and neurological disease, alongside academic–industry collaborations in Alzheimer’s disease drug discovery.

Consulting and translational research broadened that perspective. In 2015, I provided scientific writing, project management and scientific expertise to startups, companies and institutions. At Alveonix in 2016, I worked on translational projects for dry eye disease.

Since 2017, as Chief Scientific Officer, Director and Co-founder of Axalbion, I have led scientific work from preclinical development through Phase 2 for a chronic cough treatment. This has involved scientific strategy, clinical and nonclinical programs, regulatory submissions, CMC, external partners and fundraising support.
